Accused Whatcom County killer caught in Kent thanks to tip to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound



BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Marshals led Western District of Washington Fugitive Task Force, the Violent Offender Task Force and the FBI arrested 31-year-old Cody Brock on Feb. 1st at a hotel in Kent.  He was booked into the Whatcom County jail for investigation of Murder 1st Degree.  Detectives say Brock was arrested due to a tip from a Washington's Most Wanted viewer.  The first location given by the tipster to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound led officers to where he went next in Kent and was arrested.  The anonymous tipster will receive a $1,000 cash reward.

Brock is WMW Capture #1064.

Investigators say Brock shot 32-year-old Dustin Wilson on January 31st.   The sheriff's office said in a release that surveillance video shows Brock waiting for Wilson and then ambushing him from behind as he and two women approached a home.

The shooting happened at about 12:45 a.m. in the 1100 block of Old Marine Dr.
