Toddler, man killed in south Everett crash

EVERETT, Wash. -- A horrific crash killed two people, including a toddler, and seriously injured two others in south Everett Sunday morning.

Firefighters and police were dispatched to the scene at 112th Street Southwest, just east of Evergreen Way, shortly before 9:20 a.m.

A vehicle driving along 112th hit a pole and a tree, tore in half and burst into flames, according to South County Fire Public Information Officer Leslie Hynes.

Witnesses told police the vehicle was speeding through the area before it crashed.

Detectives believe speed played a role in the crash. They're also looking into if drugs or alcohol may have been a factor as well.

The identities of the victims have not been released.
