Bothell Police say dog found in hotel room was not abandoned as reported

BOTHELL, Wash. -- Police in Bothell say they have learned that the dog found at the Country Inn and Suites on North Creek Parkway was not abandoned as reported.

Officers have identified the dog's owner who they say was involved in a one car collision, left the scene on foot and then was taken for an evaluation.  The dog has been placed with a family friend and is doing well.

"We will not let this go and will continue our pursuit," police said.

Bothell Police tweeted early this morning that the dog was headed to Everett Animal Shelter and would be eligible for adoption.

"During this holiday season consider adoption rather than pet shop," police said. "This poor little dog will need a new parent(s)."
