FBI: 34-year-old Tacoma woman found dead on JBLM had been reported missing Sept. 4

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD -- The FBI is investigating after a woman was found shot and killed on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

Jessica Shaunti Jackson, 34, of Tacoma, was found on the base Sept. 13, a FBI spokesperson said, adding that she had been reported missing on Tuesday, Sept. 4.

She was shot in the head multiple times, officials said. The Pierce County Medical Examiner's office listed the manner of death as a homicide.

No other details were immediately released.

"The investigation is ongoing, so no additional details are available for release at this time," the FBI said in a news release.
