4 injured when bus carrying special needs students crashes in Auburn



AUBURN, Wash. -- A bus carrying special needs students from the Federal Way School District crashed in Auburn Friday afternoon.

Police say the driver had a medical emergency, went off the road and hit a tree in the 28900 block of 51st Avenue South.

Three students on board the bus had cuts on their head and face. They were transported to St. Francis Hospital.

Federal Way Public Schools says district personnel accompanied each child to the hospital.

The driver was also transported to a hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Parents are being notified and the accident is under investigation, according to Federal Way Public Schools.
