UPDATE: Stolen medical van from Overlake Medical Center found

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- A stolen medical van from a Bellevue hospital has been found.  It was recovered Sunday morning in a parking lot in the 15300 block of NE 17th Street in Bellevue.

Police are still searching for the suspect who stole the Tri-Med wheelchair van from Overlake Medical Center Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called to the Red Lion hotel for a disturbance around 1:30 p.m. and found a man in the hotel's lobby acting erratic. While investigating the disturbance, officers found that man had warrants out of Bothell for drug related charges.

As the man was being taken into custody, he told police that he had swallowed some heroin. Officers transported the man to Overlake Medical Center for treatment.

After being at the hospital unsupervised, the man left, and took a Tri-Med wheelchair van that had the keys in the ignition. Bellevue Police tell us that officers from Bothell were supposed to supervise the suspect, but the department didn't have enough staff.

Tri-Med operates the wheelchair service vehicle, and says that patients weren't inside the van during today's incident.
