3 killed, 2 injured when vehicle goes off Washington cliff



USK, Wash. -- Authorities say three people died and two others sustained injuries when a vehicle went off a cliff in northeastern Washington state.

The Washington State Patrol says the crash occurred Wednesday evening in Pend Oreille County and that drugs or alcohol was involved.

Police say 33-year-old Aaron P. Pierre of Cusick was driving the Kia Spectra when it went off the road about 5 miles (8 kilometers) north of Usk. He was taken to a local hospital.

Twenty-two-year-old Anthony R. Shirhama was also transported to a local hospital.

Police say three other passengers died. They are identified as 29-year-old Richard A. Torosian of Cusick, 32-year-old Kayleen Sherwood of Cusick; and 29-year-old Nick O'Shan of Usk.
