Bills will go up as council passes Seattle City Light's 6-year plan



SEATTLE -- People living in Seattle will soon be paying more for electricity.

The City Council on Monday approved Seattle City Light's new six-year strategic plan which calls for rate hikes averaging 4.5 percent each year.

The monthly bill for a typical residential customer is projected to increase form $65 in 2018 to nearly $85 in 2024.
