Charges sought for Spokane high school student who posted threats

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Police in Spokane are asking for charges to be filed against a high school student who posted online threats against Lewis and Clark High.

The Spokane County Prosecutor's Office will decide if charges will be brought.

The Spokesman-Review says nearly 1,000 students skipped school on Wednesday and more than 340 stayed home on Thursday because of the threats.

The high school in downtown Spokane has about 1,700 students.

Police say the suspect is a student at the school and was interviewed on Wednesday afternoon. Police say he admitted to posting the threats and has checked into a hospital for treatment.
