CAPTURED: WMW tips lead to child predator convicted of rape, trying to play 'doctor' with young girls -- living in woods

FUGITIVE CAPTURED May 24, 2018 --
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says Washington's Most Wanted viewer tips to Crime Stoppers led deputies to wanted sex offender, Ryan Tyas. He was found living in a tent in the woods off 130th St. NW in the Gig Harbor area on Thursday.   "After Washington's Most Wanted,  we got many tips on where he may be staying in the woods. Our deputies went out there and were able to go into the area and find him.  He had shaved his head and face, changed his appearance so he knew we were looking for him but the multiple calls led us to where he was and we were able to get him into custody," said Pierce County Sheriff's Det. Ed Troyer.

Tyas booked into the Pierce County Jail on his warrant for failing to register as a sex offender.

The sheriff's department says he had reportedly been traveling around Oregon, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana since January and had just recently returned to the Gig Harbor area.

He is WMW Capture #992.
