Seattle police investigating death of person hit by train

SEATTLE (AP) — Police in Seattle say they’re investigating after a person was hit and killed by a train.

Police say the person sitting on the tracks was struck just before midnight Friday by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train. The crash happened on the main tracks at 3rd Ave. S. and S. Holgate.

Police say the person died at the scene.

The person’s name hasn’t been released, and train traffic has resumed.
