Wrong way wreck closes lanes on NB I-405

RENTON, Wash. -- At least three lanes of northbound Interstate 405 have been re-opened after Washington State Patrol investigated a wrong way wreck. It happened near Talbot Road around 2:15 Tuesday morning.

Troopers say someone called 911 to report a wrong-way driver on I-405 near State Route 169 just before 2:15 in the morning.  Moments later, another call came in reporting the crash.  State Patrol says the driver of the blue car, a 33-year-old SeaTac woman, has been arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Troopers say she is seriously injured, but expected to survive.  Two people who were in the white SUV have non-life-threatening injuries.

"We're counting our blessings that no one was seriously or fatally hurt in this crash." said Trooper Chase Van Cleave.  "It's just a stark reminder that if you drink, or do drugs, or anything that impairs your driving, please don't get behind the wheel.  Because serious and dangerous things can definitely happen."
