Man killed in South Seattle shooting; police arrest 2 suspects, look for third



SEATTLE -- A man died of his injuries after being shot in south Seattle Friday, and police said they had arrested two suspects and were searching for a third.

About 1 p.m., police received calls of a shooting near the corner of Rainier Avenue South and South Genessee Street, Seattle police said. One person was hit in the shooting, and showed up in a car at Harborview Medical Center. He died from his wounds.

At about  3 p.m., officers saw a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description near Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but it took off at a high rate of speed, police said. Officers pursued, and the three occupants in the suspect vehicle abandoned the car and ran on foot near 47th and South Thistle. Officers chased and caught two of the men, taking them into custody. A third suspect was still at large.

"A gun was recovered at the scene," police said in a news release. "The car was impounded and the suspects are being interviewed by detectives."
