Authorities: New DNA evidence links murderer to 2 others

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Authorities say new DNA evidence links a convicted murderer to the unsolved 1974 murder of a Portland, Oregon woman whose body was found in a remote area northeast of Vancouver, Washington.

KOIN-TV reported Wednesday that blood stains on an air pistol allegedly used by convicted killer Warren Forrest in another crime were shown recently to belong to Martha Morrison, who was 17 when she disappeared. Her body was found next to Carol Valenzuela's body in the mid-1970s.

Forrest has been in prison since 1979 for the murder of Krista Blake near Battle Ground, Washington. He has denied killing Morrison, Valenzuela and several other women.

Clark County prosecutors haven't decided if there's enough evidence to charge Forrest with the murders of Morrison and Valenzuela.
