All lanes of eastbound 520 reopen after being blocked by crash

SEATTLE – A crash blocked all eastbound lanes of Highway 520 for hours on Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. just before the Montlake exit, and the highway wasn't fully reopened until shortly after 3 p.m.

The Washington State Patrol said it was a one-truck collision, and that nobody was hurt.

Backups were stretching to Interstate 5. Cars stuck immediately behind the crash were eventually let through so that crews could remove the truck involved in the accident.

WSDOT suggested using I-90 as an alternate route.

There’s no immediate word on how long it will take to clear the accident.
