LIVE UPDATES: The Seattle Seahawks on Day 2 of the 2017 NFL draft

RENTON, Wash. – You could make an argument that today is the single most important day of the year for the Seattle Seahawks.

With six total picks in Round 2 and 3 of the NFL draft, much will be decided concerning both the Seahawks’ present and future.

Seattle was scheduled to make its first pick of the draft with the second selection of the second round, after trading down twice from its original No. 26 slot on Thursday. Instead, it traded once more, dropping one spot in return for the Jacksonville Jaguars' sixth-round pick.

With those second-round picks, the Seahawks selected Michigan State defensive lineman Malik McDowell and LSU offensive lineman Ethan Pocic.

In the third round, they used three of four picks on defense. They netted  Central Florida cornerback Shaquill Griffin; Michigan strong safety Delano Hill; North Carolina defensive lineman Nazair Jones; and Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh.

The draft will conclude Saturday beginning at 9 a.m., with Rounds 4-7. The Seahawks have a fourth-rounder (111), a sixth-rounder (210) and two seventh-rounders (226 and 249).
