Large building catches fire in downtown Seattle; no injuries reported

SEATTLE -- A large building caught fire Thursday afternoon in downtown Seattle.

Multiple Seattle Fire Department units responded to a vacant building fire at 1919 1st Ave. around 3 p.m. Thursday. The fire, believed to have started on the third floor, was upgraded to a 2-alarm blaze, SFD spokesperson Alice Kim said.

The fire was brought under control and extinguished a short time after crews arrived on scene, Kim said.
