Snow, icy roads lead to 110 crashes Sunday, 2 involving WSP cruisers

BURLINGTON, Wash. -- Washington State Patrol responded to 110 crashes Sunday as snow and freezing temperatures caused hazardous conditions in Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties.

Of those 110 crashes, authorities say only one was fatal.

WSP says a 52-year-old woman died when she drove her car off State Route 20 and landed in a ditch with three feet of water. Officials are not saying if the weather was a factor, but the road was slick and had snow on it.

WSP says at least six other people received minor injuries.

Most of the crashes were north of Marysville through Skagit County and in south Whatcom County.

Two other crashes involved WSP vehicles. No word on the extent of those crashes.

Q13 crews saw dozens of spinouts Sunday morning on I-5 and  State Route 20.
