Jimmy John’s shops donate 100% profits to slain Tacoma officer’s family

TACOMA, Wash. – Five Jimmy John’s sandwich shops across the Puget Sound donated 100 percent of their profits to the family of fallen officer Reginald "Jake" Gutierrez.

The Tacoma police officer was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call more than two weeks ago.

“We're just very happy to do this for the Tacoma community. The police always come into our store here so we see them on a day-to-day basis. And they mean a lot to us as customers, as friends and people who protect us every day," Jimmy John’s worker Caitlin Gonzalez said.

Officer Gutierrez was a 17-year veteran with the Tacoma Police Department and is survived by his fiancee and three daughters.
