Teen heading to school hit by a suspected drunk driver in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — A 13-year-old girl walking to catch a bus to school was hit by a car in Tacoma Wednesday morning.

The crash happened about 7:15 a.m. at East F and East 72nd streets.

The driver of the car was a 50-year-old man. The News Tribune reports that he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The teen suffered a head injury, but her injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
