Morning snow in Bellingham area causes school delays & closures; advisory issued on road conditions

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Snow in northwest Washington caused several school districts to delays or cancel classes on Monday.

Here's a look at a few of the alerts:


    WSDOT cams captured the early morning snowfall, including this video from SR 539.



    Transportation officials reminded drivers to be careful driving in the snow. They said plows were out clearing snow and deicing I-5.

    Late Monday afternoon, the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management and Whatcom County Public Works advised residents of Whatcom County that while the snow had stopped, temperatures were dropping and freezing/icing conditions were "going to be a problem on our roadways for the next 24-36 hours. Freezing weather will continue through the week."
