SEATTLE – There’s no time for the Seattle Seahawks to think before their next game.

That’s a good thing.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Monday that the Seahawks’ short workweek before they face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday is a blessing in after their 38-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

“We’re kind of happy to have (the Thursday game) coming,” Carroll said. “Both teams are at the disadvantage of the short week, so now we compete every step of the way to get on track as fast as we can to put together a great game plan.

“There’s no time. We don’t get to sit on what happened one way or the other, win or lose, and we have to turn it, so we’ve done that – quite decisively I hope – and we’ll see how we take to that.”

Carroll said time is so short this week that the team didn’t even go over film from its worst lost since 2010.

For now, the Seahawks are using the promise of clinching the division

“When you win your division, you play a playoff game at home,” Carroll said. “And this is such a decisive advantage, we feel like, to play here and play here in front of the 12s, that it’s worth fighting for it every step of the way, and it’s worth focusing on.”

The Seahawks will be facing a Rams team that fired coach Jeff Fisher after almost five seasons with the team. Special teams coach John Fassel was elevated to interim coach.

“It’s a big story,” Carroll said. “Jeff has been in the league for a long time, as we all know, battling. That’s tough news.

“I can’t even imagine what that does for those guys in terms of turning the corner and moving ahead forward, but I’m sure they’ll do it and John will do a good job with that – he’s a terrific coach.”
