'Vault fire' causes widespread power outages in West Seattle



Update: 136 homes and businesses are without power because of a fire near the West Seattle Junction. Seattle Fire says underground crews are investigating the cause.




WEST SEATTLE -- Thousands are without power in West Seattle after a "minor explosion" near Fauntleroy Way SW and Alaska Street.

Seattle Fire is responding.

Power is out to more than 2,000 homes and businesses in the area. According to the City Light outage map, power should be restored before 6 p.m.
