How much snow did we get yesterday?

Port Angeles is the clear winner of snow accumulation Tuesday morning.  Amounts are reported from 3" to 6" of fresh snow by 6a.m. across Clallam county.

Overnight snow was focused over the Strait of Juan de Fuca after the round of heavy showers which brought most of western Washington snow to start the week.  It melted as fast as it fell for elevations near sea level but heading to the hills turned wintry.

Monday snow reports were mostly all in the foothills of the Cascades, around Hood Canal, and across the South Sound.  Here's a small selection of reports from Monday morning:

With falling temperatures near freezing (and below) Seattle gets a cold break with sunshine.  Thursday is the next storm that barrels in with warmer air.

Temperatures will rise but snow will start to fall first.  A transition to all rain is going to be different for each neighborhood.  Some commute times will be longer than others while we get to familiar rainfall and then east wind will howl as the center of the storm approaches Thursday afternoon.
