Huskies take on Buffaloes in Pac-12 Championship tonight on Q13 FOX

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- There is a lot at stake in tonight's Pac-12 championship game in Santa Clara, California, as fourth-ranked Washington faces No. 9 Colorado.

Should the Huskies win, they would solidify their claim to a spot in the national championship semifinals. If the Buffaloes take the game they would wrap up a spot in the Rose Bowl.

Record-wise Washington comes into the game 11-1 while Colorado is 10-2.

The Huskies’ path to the playoffs cleared up considerably Tuesday afternoon.

The Huskies came in at No. 4 in the CFP rankings, up on crucial spot that would put them in the playoffs if the season ended today.

CFP chairman reportedly said the committee had a difficult time choosing between Michigan and Washington for the fourth and final spot after Michigan lost to Ohio State last weekend.

The Wolverines don’t have another game on their schedule, having finished behind Ohio State in the Big Ten East division.

Alabama remained at No. 1, followed by Ohio State and Clemson. Michigan dropped to fifth, followed by Wisconsin, Penn State, Colorado, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
