RENTON, Wash. — The King County Sheriff’s Office says a man shot on a Metro Transit bus in Renton on Tuesday has died.

Sgt. Cindi West said the 27-year-old died Thursday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was taken in critical condition after the shooting.

Witnesses reported that the suspect and victim were speaking on the bus when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. West says the suspect then walked to the front of the bus, ordered the driver to stop the bus, and fled. Renton police soon found and arrested him.

The King County Prosecutor’s Office said the suspect was scheduled to face a bail hearing Thursday afternoon and that charges could be filed as soon as Friday.
