Anti-Trump electors raising money off effort

DENVER  — Democratic members of the electoral college who are trying to stop Donald Trump are raising money off their efforts.

The four electors from Colorado and Washington call themselves the "Hamilton Electors." They are trying to unite Democratic electors pledged to Hillary Clinton and Republican ones pledged to Donald Trump behind another Republican to become president when they cast their ballots on Dec. 19.

Trump won the votes of 306 electors on Nov. 8. That's enough to put him in the White House.

The electors incorporated as a nonprofit in Colorado this week. That allows them to raise money. They are soliciting funds on their website.

Two of the four Hamilton electors had said before the election that they may not vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton if she won.
