Jake Browning named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year

Washington Huskies quarterback Jake Browning was named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year by the conference on Tuesday.

The sophomore from Folsom, California has played all  12 games this season, throwing for 3,162 yards and 40 touchdowns. Browning ranks 4th in FBS passing efficiency and 17th in completion percentage (65 percent).


    He was named Pac-12 Player of the Week after throwing six touchdown passes against Oregon on Oct. 8.

    On Sep. 10 against Idaho, Browning set a school record for total touchdowns in a game with eight.

    Browning has led the team to its first 10-win season since 2000.

    The Huskies are averaging 44.8 points per game this season and have been in the Associated Press Top 10 for 13 consecutive weeks.



    The conference awarded Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year to Taylor Rapp.

    Rapp, a freshman from Bellingham, has played in all 12 games this season. He is fifth on the team with 42 tackles and second on the squad with two interceptions.
