Actor Jon Voight buys 6 Thanksgiving turkeys for stranger in Walmart line

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Louisville woman waiting in line at Walmart got a Thanksgiving surprise to remember when she turned around to find actor Jon Voight standing behind her.

Sydney Gholston, 28, had six turkeys in her cart and Voight was intrigued – he commented that she must have an extensive family, according to CBS.

Gholston explained that she works at Home of the Innocents, a nonprofit that works with vulnerable children and their families.

Voight, who was apparently in Louisville filming a movie, pulled out his wallet and paid for Gholston's groceries.

Gholston also had one request of the actor – a photo. The warm moment has since been shared thousands of times on Facebook.

"What a kind act starting with Sydney and then ending with Jon," wrote one person. "The kids are so deserving. A wonderful act of kindness by you both."

"Proves that no matter how bad life can get that there are still good people in the world," another wrote. "What an example this can be for humanity. Thanks Jon Voight."

The marketing manager for Home of the Innocent, Meredith Pack, told CBS, "We were so appreciative of his kindness! He was very interested in the Home and the services that we provide."
