SEATTLE — For decades, Major League Baseball was considered an old boys’ club — a sport dominated by men at every position, right down to the reporters covering the sport.

In fact, it took until the late 1970s before female journalists were even allowed into the clubhouses they were assigned to cover. Now, more women than ever are reporting on — and working for — professional baseball teams.

So meet Kelly Munro, who is the head of the information department for the Seattle Mariners. She’s considered a trailblazer by many, but she says she wouldn’t be where she is today if it weren’t for the greatest player to ever put on a Mariners uniform.
