Singer at Clinton election event takes knee during national anthem

NEW YORK – The national anthem singer at Hillary Clinton’s election party took a knee while performing the final line of the song.

Carmen Rodgers took the stage at the Javits Center Tuesday to perform the anthem.

By taking a knee Rodgers joined in a nationwide protest of racial oppression and inequality in the United States started by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The crowd gave Rodgers a warm ovation following her performance.
