Truck crashes into utility pole blocking all lanes of Marginal Way in Seattle

SEATTLE -- All lanes of E Marginal Way S were blocked during the Monday morning commute after a truck crashed into a utility pole.

That utility pole took down power lines at Diagonal Ave S.

Crews were diverting traffic off of Marginal while utility crews worked to remove the pole and repair the downed lines. Transportation officials asked drivers to use alternate routes, such as Interstate 5, 1st Ave, 4th Ave and Airport Way.

Two southbound lanes reopened by 10 a.m. Officials hoped to open at least one northbound lane by noon.
