Driver okay after truck plummets 20 feet off West Seattle Bridge

SEATTLE -- A man escaped with only minor injuries after his truck fell 20 feet from the West Seattle Bridge Saturday afternoon.

Seattle Fire was called out on reports of a vehicle off the bridge's western end around 12:45 p.m.

Firefighters found a white pickup truck had fallen from the road, landing headfirst into some shrubs on the 3000 block of Southwest Manning Street.

SDOT crews are working to fix the damaged guardrail blocking the right lane, which may cause some residual delays for westbound drivers.
