American Airlines plane bursts into flames at Chicago's O'Hare Airport

CHICAGO — An American Airlines plane caught fire on the tarmac at O’Hare International Airport before takeoff, forcing passengers to exit using evacuation slides Friday afternoon.

One man recorded the chaos inside the plane as passengers desperately tried to flee the burning aircraft (Warning: Video contains explicit language; some may find the content disturbing):



According to an FAA tweet, the Miami-bound Flight 383 blew a tire before the fire started.



Video from Jose Castillo showed passengers escaping the plane on emergency slides as the fire raged around them.



One passenger reported hearing what sounded like an explosion.



At least six ambulances rushed to the scene Friday afternoon.



According to American Airlines officials: "All passengers onboard flight 383 have been bused back to the terminal. Seven passengers and one flight attendant reported minor injuries and were transported to the hospital to be evaluated. We are taking care of our customers and crew and are re-accommodating our passengers on another flight to Miami this evening."
