4 injured as fire rips through condo in downtown Bellevue

BELLEVUE, WASH. -- Four people have been hospitalized following a massive condo fire on the West side of Bellevue Park.

Two people suffered smoke inhalation and burns, two others had heart attacks, according to the Bellevue Fire Department.

Officials believe everyone is out of the building and they are no longer searching for victims.

The department began getting multiple calls about 7:30 p.m. for an apartment building on fire near 100th and Main Street.

Lt. Ryan Armstrong from Bellevue Fire says the building has about twenty units.

Witnesses told Q13's Jamie Tompkins that they heard an explosion then saw flames. The fire is still under investigation.

Lt. Armstrong said 60 firefighters along with 25 trucks worked to extinguish the blaze.
