Snoqualmie homeowners free owl stuck in net

SNOQUALMIE, Wash.-- A chicken owner in Snoqualmie had an unexpected visitor this week.

KIRO Radio's Kim Shepard discovered an owl trapped in the netting around her chicken yard. Shepard said a group of blue jays came over and protected the owl while a hawk circled overhead.

The couple cut the owl free and called the Department of Fish and Wildlife. They planned to warm up and release the owl as soon as it had recovered.
