Michael Bennett leaves Seahawks game with knee injury

SEATTLE – An already hobbled defense absorbed another blow on Sunday afternoon when Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury.

There was no word on the severity of the injury, and the team said his return was questionable. The Seahawks went on to a 26-24 victory.

Bennett was hit with a cut-block from Atlanta offensive tackle Jake Matthews.

He was helped off the field, examined by the team’s medical crew on the training table, then headed to the locker room. He returned to the sideline in the fourth quarter.

Seattle’s defense was already playing without defensive end Frank Clark and safety Kam Chancellor, who were listed as inactive before the game.
