ALPHARETTA, Ga. – An Alpharetta man is facing charges after he was pulled over for speeding excessively while his 2 year-old child was in the back seat of the vehicle, WGCL reported.

The man, who has yet to be identified, was arrested after he was clocked at 111 miles per hour while driving down Georgia 400.

The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety posted the incident to their Facebook page on October 8 with the caption, “What was he thinking?”

The man has been charged with speeding and reckless driving. The child was turned over to a family member on the scene.

The man’s excuse for driving so fast? He said he was on his way to pick up his daughter from daycare.
