TACOMA, Wash. — A legal gun owner is not expected to face charges after he shot and killed a would-be robber in Tacoma Friday evening.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said, the victims were sitting in a car in the 1200 block of Division Avenue about 6:45 p.m. when a man approached them and robbed them at gunpoint.

One of the victims was legally armed and shot the suspect.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified that man as 26-year-old Terry Webb.

Webb was driven to the hospital by a friend and pronounced dead on arrival.

The 36-year-old robbery victim who shot Webb was not arrested.
