Teen found shot dead in car; Auburn police searching for suspect

AUBURN, Wash. -- Police in Auburn say a 17-year-old boy was found shot dead Friday morning in a car on 25th near "F" St. SE.

According to police, streets in the area were shut down during the investigation. Several schools were placed on lockdown, but authorities said they were lifted around 10 a.m.

Witnesses told police they saw several people running from the scene and are working to identify them. Police believe the shooting appears to be gang related.

Officers set up a perimeter and used a K9 but did not find the suspect. No description of the suspect has been released.

It's also unclear what may have led to the shooting.
