Man killed in Pioneer Square shooting; police investigating

SEATTLE -- Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in Pioneer Square.

Just before 2:30 a.m., officers were in the area of Occidental Avenue South and South Washington Street when they heard several gunshots, Seattle police said.

Officers responded and found a man lying on the ground. The victim, in his 20s, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center where he died.

Homicide and crime scene teams are investigating the shooting, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
