Wilson could miss Sunday's game against Jets after spraining knee

SEATTLE – Russell Wilson is doing well after spraining his left knee, but there’s a chance he could miss the Seattle Seahawks’ game against the New York Jets next Sunday, coach Pete Carroll told ESPN 710 Seattle in an interview Monday morning.

Carroll said an MRI confirmed that Wilson sprained his MCL during the third quarter of the Seahawks’ 37-18 win Sunday, but said Wilson has “responded beautifully.”

However, with the Seahawks going into a bye week after facing the Jets, Carroll said “there’s obviously consideration” that the team will give its franchise quarterback two weeks to recover. Carroll said the issue is the knee’s stability, and that Wilson would likely wear a brace if he does play.

Carroll also said running back Thomas Rawls’ injury is worse than originally thought. He said Rawls has an injured fibula and won’t be back for a few weeks.
