Surprising snacks that are bad for your kids teeth

Dr. Cody Mast, from Bellevue Kids Dentist stopped by the Q13 Studio to talk about why it's so important kids take good care of their teeth.

Hey says the key is prevention and parent involvement.   Dr. Mast says kids should come in for the initial dental visit around their first birthday.  Yes, that's before many of them even have teeth.  Subsequent visits should happen twice a year after that.

Dr. Mast also talked about the importance of flossing, at least once a day for kids.

In addition to twice daily brushing, he also had some surprising information about snacks that can break down and leave sugar on the teeth.
