Seattle Storm headed to playoffs following late-season push

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Storm are headed back to the WNBA playoffs following a late-season run of hot shooting and timely wins.

Ten games ago, the Storm were struggling with an 8-14 record. But wins over L.A. and Minnesota and a successful East Coast road trip propelled the Storm, as the team has gone 6-2 since the Olympic break in August.

Second-year head coach Jenny Boucek said the team's recent success has helped players' mentality ahead of the playoffs.

"I think it's starting to sink in for them," Boucek told the WNBA Storm page. "What it takes to win on the road."

Currently, the Storm are in the 7th Seed of the playoffs. They can clinch the 7th Seed with a win at home Sunday over the Chicago Sky or a Phoenix loss.

The Storm last won the WNBA Championship in 2010.

The Storm take on the Chicago Sky at 4 p.m. Sunday. The game will be broadcast on JOEtv.
