RENTON, Wash. — Several reports indicate the Seattle Seahawks have signed former Skyline High School star Jake Heaps to the 10-man practice squad.
Heaps was with the Seahawks during the preseason as the third QB behind Russell Wilson and Trevone Boykin, but the team waived him when they cut the roster to 53 players.
The move comes after Wilson suffered an ankle sprain in Sunday’s 12-10 win against the Miami Dolphins.
Head coach Pete Carroll said on Monday that Wilson’s MRI and X-rays came back clear but that his ankle was swelling. Carroll said Wilson was expected to practice Wednesday and that it was likely Wilson would start on Sunday in Los Angeles.
