Department of Ecology asking for input

The Washington State Department of Ecology is asking for input on their plan to clean up toxic waste from the Everett smelter.  A smelter is a place where metal is refined from ore.  The Everett smelter closed down more than a century ago, but dangerous material like arsenic, mercury, and lead is still contaminating the soil.   The Department of Ecology has a plan to cart away all the contaminated dirt and replace it.  You can see the plan here, and let the state know what you think.  They are accepting comments until September 20th.
