Man gets 10 years for having thousands of child porn images

SEATTLE -- A 38-year-old Seattle resident who went to Colorado to sexually molest a teen he met online has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Gregory Bridges was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty in June to possession of child pornography and traveling with intent to engage in sexual acts with a minor. Bridges was 36 and the victim was 14 when the abuse began.

U.S. Attorney Annette L. Hayes says Bridges came to the attention of law enforcement in December 2013 for having thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse.

Prosecutors say further investigation revealed that for over a decade Bridges preyed on teen boys he met via social media.

Bridges was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to some of the victims depicted in his images of child sex abuse.
