SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — An earlier crash plus heavy traffic for Labor Day weekend has created big backup on eastbound Interstate 90.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation, there was a 10-mile backup on eastbound I-90 about nine miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass summit.
As of 3 p.m., transportation officials said drivers can expect an additional travel times of more than an hour.
Rainy weather wasn’t helping the situation, and it was expected to rain off and on through the weekend.
There was also a crash reported on the eastbound I-90 off-ramp to SR 18 blocking the center lane. As of 3 p.m., the crash was cleared, but a “domino effect” held up traffic.
Drivers should also expect increased traffic this weekend as Dave Matthews Band performs three concerts at the Gorge Amphitheatre in central Washington.
