Alleged dealer charged with 'controlled substance homicide' following woman's overdose

BREMERTON -- A Kitsap County man is being charged with controlled substance homicide after allegedly selling a 31-year-old woman heroin that ultimately led to her death.

And police say more controlled substance homicide charges could be on the way.

According to the Bremerton Police Department, a 31-year-old female died Thursday night after being pulled off life-support following a heroin overdose. The victim was a first-time heroin user, police said.

Special operations detectives investigated the overdose and determined the victim and her friend obtained the heroin from an alleged dealer named Christopher "Cupcake" Fletcher, police said.

Police arrested Fletcher for delivery of a controlled substance. On Friday, Fletcher was charged with controlled substance homicide.

The victim's friend was also arrested, and also expected to be charged with controlled substance homicide. Her name is not yet being reported because she has not yet been charged with a crime.

Both the victim's friend and Fletcher are being held in Kitsap County Jail in lieu of bond.

Controlled substance homicide is a class B felony, and punishable by up to ten years in prison.
