SEATTLE — A man died in a motorcycle crash early Saturday morning on the 1st Avenue South Bridge in Seattle, police say.

According to police, the adult male rider was traveling northbound on 1st Avenue South when it appears he failed to negotiate a turn to an off-ramp. The man hit the railing, and flipped off the bridge onto S. Michigan Street.

Emergency workers were called and the man was declared dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.

Officials believe speed was a factor in the collision. The Seattle Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will investigate the crash.
